Actually it’s ok. It has been a fun couple of months with traveling to West Virginia, Kentucky, and Florida. It has also been fun hanging out with teens and getting to spend time with them. I get to hang out with 20 teens that are part of the IMPACT team from West Virginia North and for one night I get to hang out with some Kentucky teens. It seems like every time I go to another event I like these teens more and more. Sometimes I dread packing for these events but these guys make it totally worth while! Here are some of these teens:

I have only known these kids for two months but they are pretty incredible and there are sooooo many more that I can’t put up enough pictures to show all of these awesome teens.
It has also been awesome to be out of school and have the ability to hang out with this pretty awesome and beautiful girl a lot more….

Wow what a summer it has been! I have been to my first summer camp and I am currently at my second both of which were West Virginia camps. So much fun at both of them. Today I went white water rafting and it was easily one of the best things I have ever done in my life. The area that we were in was extremely beautiful and and the rapids were incredible. I can’t wait to do it again sometime! I might get a chance to do it again down here in West Virginia. Man this state is just beautiful!! The mountains are just breath taking! Things that you just don’t see in the flat state of Ohio. haha Don’t get me wrong I love the state of Ohio but there are some amazing things down here that we don’t have in Ohio. Later this week I get to spend about a day and a half with students from Eastern Kentucky. Talk about an amazing group of students and youth leaders! Amazing I tell you! I really think I have the three best districts. I love them all already and I have only been working with them for a little over a month now.
I also got the opportunity to go to General Assembly in Orlando, Florida. Wow! That’s all I can say about that! I had no idea what to expect there but it was incredible! For those that might not know what General Assembly is, it is a huge gathering of Nazarenes from all over the world. One number I heard was 20,000 people but that could be off I am not sure though. It was awesome to get to meet people that were from all over the world. I met the District Superintendents from West and East Congo (Yeah Congo in Africa) and I got to get dinner with a pastor from Alaska. The dinner with the pastor was very very encouraging and something that I really needed at that time.
Through all of these things I have met some incredible people. It truly is a blessing to have been given the opportunity to meet all of them. They have challenged me, made me look at things differently, and have made me laugh so hard sometimes. These people aren’t just the adults that I have met but the majority of these people have been the students that I have met. These teens are just incredible! I honestly can’t think of any other way of explaining them.
I can’t wait to meet more students and the leaders that are helping to form these students over the next two years! I really can’t wait to hang out with these students more and get to know them and their stories better. What a great opportunity I have to interact with them, see them grow, and help them along their path and maybe even have them help me along mine as well!!!

So New Cov (a Music and Ministry group from MVNU) and I were on our way down to General Assembly (a huge Nazarene convention) in Orlando, Florida when our van started to act funny. It wouldn’t accelerate past 65 and then it would decelerate while Tori was still pushing down on the gas. So we turned on exit in the middle of Tenn. but when we stopped the van wouldn’t go anywhere. So we put it in a low gear and barely got it off the side of the road where we sat for about a half hour waiting on AAA to send a tow truck to pick us up. They finally got there and towed us to a BP which was just under a mile away. This BP actually has a little TV room where there were already some truckers. These guys were watching some movies that where on TV. We sat with them and watched this movies with them and they put all of their inputs in whenever they possibly could. It has been probably one of the funniest things that I have ever seen. One of the movies we watched with them was Save the Last Dance and one of the truckers actually admitted to watching Dancing with the Stars and wanting to be able to dance like the people on the show and in the movie.
This has been by far one of the funniest experiences of my life and it wouldn’t have happened if our van didn’t break down in who knows where in the middle of Tenn. I am not sure why but I usually hate when plans go the wrong way but this has actually been a lot of fun and I have enjoyed getting to know the people on New Cov.

Wow what a transition and what a start of something. There is some much going on right. New apartment, New job, A TON of new responsibilities, the list continue to go on as I find out more. I am currently at a NACCAP conference at Cedarville University trying to learn more about this job of Admissions Counselor. For those that don’t know I am an Admissions Counselor at MVNU for the West Virginia North and South and Eastern Kentucky. I am very excited about this opportunity to recruit students to come to a place that I love. This job will be very exciting and very stressful and full of new challenges. I can’t wait to meet all these new students and talk with them and their families about continuing their education at MVNU.

A lot has gone on since the last time I updated this. College basketball is now over until next season. The NBA playoffs are about to start. Most importantly though……MLB 2009 HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN!!!! I love baseball! I loved playing it and I love going to games be it games here at MVNU or Reds games or anything inbetween. There is something about baseball that just brings a new sense of being to my life. Somewhere during the winter I get kind of bored and then college basketball gets interesting and I get that feeling that I get every year that the greatest sport in the world is getting ready to start.
A lot has happened in my life as well. Graduation is about to happen so the feelings of having to get a real job that will hopefully last longer than a summer is weighing on me. With that I am always looking for job openings and when I finally find one I have to fill out the application and I just get overwhelmed with everything that this entails. I wish I could just know what I was doing and I wish I knew whether or not my dad will be ok with where I get a job at. If you don’t know a certain personal thing about my life then that last statement won’t make any sense. I just sometimes feel like my dad expects me to stay at home and part of me wants to but I know that I need to create my niche in the world.
Sometimes I just don’t believe in myself enough. I feel like these decisions are too much for me to make a time like this in my life. I need to have more confidence in myself and faith in God that He will not lead me in a direction that isn’t right.
